have seen them before but excellent for you to make them worldwide viewed. you can - like many will - look at them and go:

criticise, criticise, criticise, but if you do it is IMHO missing the point this was BRAND NEW SHOTOKAN endeavoring to be a MA. NO Competition thinking, a new path - excellent in some ways if dated and thus OLD! I love this kind of film it IS how it all started 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

Yes bits of it are easy to criticise but how many modern shotokan groups do not use some of the really basic concepts and techniques shown in the video such as use of hikite and attacks like hiza-geri? Like Steve said you can see how competition karate affected the art in such a big way over time i.e. not practising what I said above.

However, to me, this video does show that either;

a) The original Shotokan guys didn't really know the Bunkai of the kata they had been shown, or;
b) They were very good at hiding it!
