How about Kanazawa (JKA All-Japan Kumite champ in '57 and '58) and Tanaka (JKA All-Japan Kumite champ in '74 and '75)!

NYC, early 70's - Errol Bennett from da Bronx (you have to say 'da Bronx', you can't say the Bronx). He was also a champion, middle wieght, full-contact fighter. Fought him At Nick Adler's out on LI. He threw that rear leg, mawashi geri with his left leg. I went to block it & come off the block with gyaku zuki, as I had done hundreds of times before, he almost knocked me off my feet. Good thing I blocked it or he would have knocked my head off my shoulders.
He was a great fighter. Some of the toughest fighters in NYC came from da south Bronx.

Thanks,
Tom
