I remember training at Ormskirk SKC with Sensei Kawasoe some years ago. After the session the club took him to a local Chinese restuarant and I am sure that the conversation was about him being born in China to Japanese parents.

I am privileged to be able to train with Sensei Kawasoe four times a year when he makes the long journey from London to Caernarfon, North Wales. When Sensei left the KUGB in the 90's we, WTKF, Welsh karate Karate Federaton, were very supportive to Sensei and to this day we support him in his pursuit to teach traditional karate as it should be.
I have just returned from a weekends training with Sensei and yet again I have seen another side of his understanding of karate.
Sensei Kawasoe has a new book coming into print at the end of the year on technique and by what i have seen this weekend at training it will be very beneficial to all karateka.

A Sensei in his 60's who can perform amazing fete's is a legend in my book.

Hi Mike, Like yourself, I was in awe with Sensei Kawasoe's performance last Friday (and again on Saturday) I was very interested to listen to comments made by some Brown&white belts who were invited to the Friday session for the first time and were absolutely AMAZED.
Andy said he was "Blown away " with the session.
I am really pleased that I have in my possession the Shotokan dawn series of books supplied by your good self. It gives a clear account of the genesis of karate here in the UK. Sensei Kawasoe's book is also a MUST for any serious karateka.
Please make sure you send me a copy of his latest book. WHATEVER THE COST.. I DON'T MIND... IT WILL BE WORTH EVERY PENNY.
Thanks Mike.. I know you feed my reading habit and appreciate it.

Opened it up Christmas morning (chistmas present off one of my daughters) and just finished reading it about half an hour ago. Brilliant book which should be followed by another one covering his teaching/training after the KUGB 'split' and the ultimate formation of the UKTKF to our present time.

Best Regards

Nothing very humorous in it all Steve - very much in the dry - informational - cross referenced style of Dr. Layton's books on this sort of thing.

A very informative read though - but I'm really waiting for Vol 2 as it cuts off jsut as he's really getting started on his own in the UK...... hence I was actually a little disappointed that the next book is a Technical manual..... :(

What are you two like hey, evidently you have never taken up publishing because if you did you would know that you don't make megga bucks in the book business, it's a case of keeping your head above water and having a nice bank manager, having said what I said I thank you for being there. Happy New Year.

Jim, waiting is like wondering what father christmas is going to bring you every year. It's always exciting, I hope it was good for you.
I hope the titles I have published so far have been of interest to all, I can do no more.
