Enpi technique

Postby petek » Sat Sep 24, 2011 5:19 pm

Can anyone tell me the name of the 'dumping' technique, near the end of the kata Enpi ?, just prior to the last 2 shuto-uke.

Thanks in advance

You mean the movement that's implied in the jump? I'd say its either something like a kata guruma ("shoulder wheel", it's a judo throw where you lift the target in a fireman's carry-ish hold and dump him/her to the other side), or a leg lift with high kuzushi using the other hand. Don't know if that takedown has any formal name, but the Argentine SKIF website lists the double handed move as morote koko gamae

every time someone reposts that article about the 3/4 rotation punch, choki motobu kills a makiwara.

please, think of the makiwaras.

Thanks Diego, I knew about it being called morote koko gamae. from Kancho Kanazawa's book, I just knew the technique had a name.

Thanks again
