Hi Guys,

As you'll see I have changed the colours on the votes to Red for Yes for names and Green for No to names, this'll hopefully make reading and counting the votes easier.

If you vote from this point onwards could you please change the colour of your vote to suit the answer given, just to make following the vote easier for everyone.

Thanks guys,

Em and Shaun

Nomenclature

I vote no for names even though I have always used my name throughout. I feel that if others wish to hide behind a pseudonym then they should at least have the option to hide.

I not really bothered if ppl sign their name or not. It's the Internet so why not be anonymous? :?

I think enforcing names we will lose some ppl from the forum.

Maybe we should pass the buck to the moderators to look out for trolls...?

So can I just clarify what you are voting for?

I Vote NO Names.

I think it is down to each individual to decide whether or not to put their name to a post.

Also unless checks are made to confirm identity, how do you know if a real name is used or not? surely its down to the reader to deterine if someone is making a true or valid point or not?

Also I do think it could drive people away, like Waza said, its the only time I've seen a sugestion on a forum that real names must be used.

PS. Sorry this is my first post on the forum, but have been reading for a while :)

Unreal!

Postby shotokanwoman » Wed Mar 14, 2007 4:53 pm

I consider it unreal that anyone would want to make a contribution to the forum, but then to hide behind anonymity! What's the point - especially when there has already been a vote on it. I do not agree with the current Prim Minister's policies, but he was elected democratically and I'll live with that. Can you imagine asking for a new election because you the results of the original voting upset your feelings?

It says much about the 'no names' - and some of these are the very same people who cry about seniors wanting it 'their' way!

Maria you cannot judge me as a 'no name' voter as one of those who argued about the last ballot. I did not. I accepted it (as you will see my name is now on the profile). However as the vote has been opened again I have voted again. You do not know who argued about it so do not judge us all.

Right Wayer's

Arguing is not meant to happen in this thread. This is where votes are to be taken, and counting will be a pain in the backside if I have to read through threads of arguing trying to find yes and no's.

Thanks
Shaun

I don't want reasons, I just want a simple yes or no (Just to make our life tat little bit easier) Thanks

Did you notice...?

Postby 200374 » Wed Mar 14, 2007 5:51 pm

Hi Maria

Did you notice how the question of democratic voting gets ignored? You might end up back at KU - but I do hope not. As you say, this ia a great place to exchange points of view and on the whole, everyone gets along ok, we're a friendly group!
